Memorial Day Activities

Looking for something to do this weekend? Denver has so many Memorial Day Activities to choose from!

On May 27th from 10am to noon at POF Hall (just South of the state capitol) there will be a Veterans Memorial Day Tribute. The ceremony honors Colorado’s fallen heroes and will include music and storytelling. This annual non-profit tribute is free and open to the public.

Denver Day of Rock will be hosted on May 27th at 16th Street Mall from 2:30pm to 9:30pm. This is the 8th year in a row that this massive block party will take place. More than 2 dozen rock concerts will be performing on 5 different stages. Amp the Cause is a Denver-based non-profit organization that raises funds for more than 50 children’s charities. They will be fundraising via food and beer gardens set up throughout downtown for the event. You can get more information at www.DenverDayofRock.com. They also have an app that provides information on the band lineups, food trucks, and more.

In addition to Memorial Day themed events there are also some other fun sights and activities you can attend over the weekend. The Denver Arts Festival will be held on May 27th and 28th at Stapleton’s Conservatory Green. More than 50,000 art lovers are expected to attend this year to see artwork from both Colorado artists and national artists.  The Denver Art Museum has some fun exhibits displayed right now including Abstract Expressionism. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is hosting Odesza May 27th and 28th, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on May 29th and 30th. For some fun in the sun you could head over to Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park! Finally, of course there are some games happening this week including The Colorado Rockies playing the St. Louis Cardinals and the Seattle Mariners.
